Student Safety & Success

See What Is Changing—for Every Student and the Whole School

The Predictive Intelligence Layer for Student Safety, Student Success and School Performance

Student Sentinel connects academic, attendance, behavior, counseling, support, cyber-monitoring and safety data across K–12 and higher education. Authorized teams gain one current view of student change, active interventions and follow-through—so they can understand what matters and coordinate human-led support earlier.

Schools Have More Data Than Ever. What They Lack Is One Operating Picture.

School systems each hold part of the story. Student Sentinel connects academic, attendance, engagement, behavioral, safety and support signals to show how they relate, what is changing and whether the response is working.

Most school systems tell you what was entered. Student Sentinel shows you what is changing, who may need attention and whether action is being taken.

Beyond Reporting: A Continuously Updated Intelligence Environment

Student Sentinel updates as connected data becomes available, maintaining a current view of students, cohorts, interventions and schoolwide performance.
Current State
See academics, attendance, engagement, behavior, safety and support in one environment.

Baselines
Learn what normal looks like and surface meaningful change.

Benchmarks
Compare current conditions with history, goals, thresholds and MTSS criteria.

Accountability
Know who needs review, who owns the next action and what is overdue.
No report to assemble or spreadsheet to reconcile.

Measure Against What Normal and Success Look Like.

A number gains meaning when it is compared with the baselines and goals that matter to the school.
  • Individual student performance over time
  • Grade, course, subject and cohort patterns
  • Current, prior-year and longitudinal performance
  • District goals, thresholds and MTSS criteria
  • Intervention timeliness, ownership and follow-up
  • Progress after support or intervention
Move from “What does the report say?” to the questions that guide action:
  • What changed, and when did it begin?
  • Which students or groups are affected?
  • Are multiple indicators changing together?
  • Is the condition improving or deteriorating?
  • Who owns the next action?
  • Is the intervention producing the intended result?

Meaningful Change Deserves Attention, Not Assumptions.

No single grade, absence, behavior or statement determines risk. Student Sentinel does not diagnose or infer intent. It identifies new, worsening or connected changes and gives qualified staff context for human review.

Academic Performance
Declines in grades, assignments or participation are evaluated against the student’s history, course expectations and relevant cohorts. The FBI has identified appreciable performance declines and unusual absences among behaviors observed before some acts of targeted violence; neither is predictive on its own. FBI study

Attendance and Engagement
New absence, tardiness, withdrawal or loss of interest can signal academic difficulty, distress or unmet needs. The APA identifies social withdrawal, loss of interest and sudden grade declines among behaviors that may warrant attention. APA guidance

Communication and Relationships
Abrupt isolation, escalating conflict or significant communication changes can add critical context. Statements about wanting to die, hopelessness or being a burden require immediate attention under school protocols. NIMH warning signs

MTSS Visibility Without Another Reporting Burden.

Designed to Help Schools Act Earlier and Perform Better.

Student Sentinel supports the core activities behind an effective Multi-Tiered System of Support by bringing screening indicators, progress information, interventions and data-based decision support into a connected operating environment. Teams can:

  • View universal, targeted and intensive support populations
  • Apply district-defined criteria and decision rules
  • Identify students with overlapping indicators
  • Monitor interventions, ownership and follow-up
  • Evaluate progress, capacity and implementation gaps
Student Sentinel enables schools and districts to pursue measurable improvements across both student and institutional outcomes:

  • Earlier identification of struggle and safety concerns
  • Faster, better-coordinated intervention
  • Improved attendance, engagement and course completion
  • Stronger graduation readiness and persistence
  • Consistent MTSS review, accountability and resource allocation
  • A defensible record of detection, review and response
